Examining Successful Models of Atma Nirbharta in Defence
Learning from Mistakes is a well established method of succeeding in our endeavours. However, our successes are generally overlooked and underestimated. As a result, we miss out learning from our successful endeavours. It is well known that the Indian Navy has been successful in indigenisation of Shipbuilding to a large extent and is a terrific model to emulate. In recent times, the modernisation of Artillery has come age and has started in right earnest. Also the Tejas program is on the verge of taking off. These are powerful and successful models of Atma Nirbharta in Defence, which need examination to draw lessons for emulation in the future. In this connection we will discuss and interact with those who contributed to such success when they were in chair. The aim of the webinar is to assess the various indigenisation efforts in the defence sector and identify what did and didn't work in order to ensure successful emulations in the future.
Towards this, SIDM in collaboration with the Current and Strategic Affairs (CASA) Forum is organising a virtual interaction titled 'Examining Successful Models of Atma Nirbharta in Defence' on 06 December 2020 at 1700 Hrs.
