Technology Development Fund (TDF) Scheme - Cycle 4
Technology Development Fund (TDF) Scheme
Technical Consultative Workshop Cum Collegiate Meeting
For TDF Cycle 4 requirements
The ‘Technology Development Fund (TDF)’ scheme has been set up by the Government of India under the ‘Make in India’ initiative to create an eco-system for enhancing cutting edge technology capability by inculcating R&D culture in Industry for building indigenous state-of-the-art systems for defence applications. Technology Development Fund (TDF) Scheme aims for the development of defence and dual-use technologies that are currently not available with the Indian defence industry or have not been developed so far. For more details please visit https://tdf.drdo.gov.in.
For the 4 project requirements under Cycle, the following technical consultative workshop and a collegiate meeting are being organized by Global Innovation & Technology Alliance (GITA) which is the supporting agency engaged by DRDO to support the implementation of TDF Scheme.
The workshop is being jointly organized by the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) and will involve the participation of industry members and academic experts wherein the DRDO and Services HQ project officers will present the details and specifications of the project followed by round table discussions on each project requirement. Indian Companies are encouraged to use this opportunity to showcase their Technical & Financial strengths and capabilities to undertake the project requirements.
Typically, projects will not exceed a development period of two years. The funding is provided through the provision of grants to public and private sector industry including MSMEs (up to 90% of project cost) that may work in collaboration with academic or research institutions to carry out innovation, research and development with a limit of INR 10 Crore per project. The focus will be on funding for the development of technologies that will form the kernel of components/ Assemblies, which will, in turn, be used to develop defence equipment/ systems/ sub-systems/ platforms. We invite representatives from Industry and Academia to contribute towards this feasibility study.
The objective is to have a Preliminary Assessment of Technical Capability of the Indian Companies to undertake development and manufacture of requirements identified under TDF Cycle 4, conduct Feasibility study and formulation of broad technical specifications.
Towards this, a Technical Consultative Workshop (first day) followed by Collegiate Meeting (2nd day) will be conducted involving DRDO, Users from Services Headquarters (Army, Air Force and Navy) and Private Industries including startups.
